Discription: This cherry Chinese wedding chest is 76” tall 40” wide and 22” deep. It was a very difficult piece to build. My customer saw this particular piece in a catalogue in a Kansas City museum. The book revealed all of the construction techniques used by the ancient craftsman. The challenge was to use the same techniques. The front and side views do not reveal that they are canted. The front starts off at 40” at the bottom but slopes to 36” at the top and the same proportional cant happens on the side. Thus, there are no square corners on the sides or front of the cabinet. After many enjoyable hours of labor it was finished and a joy to behold.
